Tsubasa Anime now Official!

Welp, looks like there's definetly going to be a Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles anime for sure. According to Clamp's website, it will air in April of 2005 on NHK and will be animated by Bee Train (Noir, MADLAX, Avenger, etc.) which I'm not so sure I'm thrilled about (I was hoping either Bones or Madhouse...). Anyways, I'm pretty excited about this either way. I'm currently up to reading volume 7, and it's definetly been a fun ride so far. I hope they keep most of the characters' original voices that are cross-overs, especially Sakura and Syaoran's (tho a more grown up voice for him might work better...).

Anyone have any picks for who they want as Fye (Fai) and Kurogane's voices?
My current pick for Fye would be Saiga Mitsuki (Kyousuke from Soul Taker, Okita in Peacemaker, Junior in R.O.D. TV, etc.) for a more feminine feel, or possibly Kouki Miyata (Kan-chan in tactics) but his voice might not be quite smooth enuf I guess... but I think he could pull it off. I definetly imagine him with more of a feminine voice tho.
For Kurogane... I'm not really sure if he should have more of a gruff voice, or a more smartass voice... Toshiyuki Morikawa (Mitsuomi in Tenten, Seiichirou in X TV, etc.) might work pretty well, especially since he's done other Bee Train AND other CLAMP series.. lemme know what you guys think...

In the meantime, here's the front page of Chapter 64 confirming Tsubasa as an anime.

Tactics Episode 5

Kan-chan helps out a childhood friend who is having trouble with a doll-maker guy that seems to be kind of stalking her. Turns out he's making a doll that looks just like her and she's possessed by a demon. Who woulda guessed??

Akane Maniax Episode 1

This OAV is a spin-off of the fairly popular series, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. It features Haruka's sister Akane and takes place some time after KgNE. Akane is still kind of down about the whole Takayuki thing, but a transer student named Gouda (with a very... interesting imagination) joins her class and instantly falls in love with her. The whole episode is basically Gouda's attempts to get her to notice him and him imagining them falling in love, etc. Of course, Akane doesn't want anything to do with the guy. =)

---

I wasn't the biggest fan of KgNE, but I still enjoyed it to a point. Akane wasn't really one of my favorite characters from the show (hell, I didn't really like anyone on the show really...), but Gouda is just insane. He's a far cry from any of the characters on Kimiga just because he is intersting and fun! Seki Tomokazu does his voice, which was a great choice for Gouda because I really can't imagine any other voice for him... Oh and don't let the mech stuff in the opening fool you, there is some mech stuff, but it all just stems from Gouda's imagination. So far, I'm definetly liking this more than Kimiga...

Yah, there's a lot of screencaps, but I just couldn't choose the best ones cause this show had some great stuff. ^_^;

Uta∽Kata Episode 3

Finally!! I was just about to watch this raw, when I saw that it was being subbed finally. Hopefully the other groups doing the joint on this will keep it up at a good pace. Anyways, the girls go to the beach, and work at one of the girl's brother's beach house for a little bit. A girl named Nao that used to be friends with Ichika shows up, but she's depressing and kind of a brat. Ichika loses her father's expensive watch while saving Nao from drowning, and uses her powers to recover it.

I'm so happy this show is back...

Mai-HiME Episode 8

Spoilers, yo!

The school festival is going on, and Mai, Takumi, Tate, and the vice-president guy get stuck in a cave below the school and are attacked by an Orphan. Also, we find out that Akane is a HiME as well, and after revealing it to her boyfriend, she is tested by Miyu who kills her Child. This causes her to lose her HiME status and powers, and therefore she loses what is most important to her... well that was short-lived (tho she apparently did some damage in an earlier episode that we weren't orginally aware of).

---

Pretty emotional episode, I kinda knew what was gonna happen before it did cause I think I accidently read it in a blog somewhere.. but either way it was quite depressing. Everytime I watch this show I either feel pretty disinterested or extremely engrossed in it... Hopefully more of this emotional stuff will keep up, but without too much angst, cause I just don't feel like it works as too much as an angsty series. I have a feeling that the drama will really go down later because of the fact that someone else is gonna go thru the same thing as Akane at some point I'm sure...

Mahou Shoujo Lyircal Nanoha Episode 5

The whole gang goes to an onsen, and the mysterious blonde girl rival appears again. She tells Nanoha to stay out of her way, or else she will consider her an enemy. Oh, and apparently her name is Fate, and she has a familiar named "Arf" that has the ability to change into a human (from a wolf-like creature?).

Genshiken Episode 5

The club is about to be shut down, but Saki saves the day! After blackmailing the school council into letting them keep the club, Saki is blackmailed by the president of the Genshiken to join the club... I'm sure Saki is regretting saving the club now...

---

Pretty boring ep, but the ending was really funny. I'm not really sure why Saki saved the Genshiken from getting shut down, but I guess it had to do with the annoying manga club guy, and the fact that everyone in the Genshiken is too much of a wuss to stand up for themselves and it pisses her off.
